Delaware Concealed Weapons Appeals Lawyer

Turned Down for a CCDW Permit to Carry Concealed?

If a judge denied your petition for carrying a concealed deadly weapon (CCDW), it is not necessarily the last word. You can appeal the decision if you believe your permit was wrongly denied.

I am Francis E. Farren, a criminal law attorney in Delaware. I have successfully appealed CCDW cases in New Castle County and statewide. Call me at 866-603-4647 to arrange a free consultation.

Delaware CCDW Appeals Lawyer

When I was employed as a Deputy Attorney General, I was in charge of handling CCDW Appeal hearings so I certainly know what is at stake, and how to defend them.

As a criminal defense attorney, I can step in if you applied to Superior Court for a permit to carry a concealed firearm but a judge turned you down. Once you are denied, the court will send a letter. You must request a hearing within 10 days of receiving the letter.

At the hearing, I will make a pitch to the judge to try to change his or her mind. First, I examine the reason that your permit was rejected. A conviction for domestic violence or assault may be the end of the story. However, if you were arrested in connection with a crime but never charged or convicted, the arrest should not be barrier to a CCDW permit. Convictions for non-violent offenses or traffic crimes also should not disqualify you for a concealed carry permit.

I work to demonstrate that you are a citizen of full age and good moral character and that any blemishes on your record are the exception and not part of a pattern of criminal behavior.
