Before becoming a defense attorney, I worked as a probation/parole officer and supervisor for eight years. While there I prosecuted numerous probation and parole violations, as well as matters before the Board of Parole. That experience gave me a practical understanding of the procedures and policies that probation/parole officers work with every day. I have a comprehensive understanding of the rules of the Department of Corrections regarding such matters, and can sometimes identify discrepancies in the officer's reports and files which can serve to mitigate the potential consequences for my client.

A Former Prosecutor

After obtaining my law degree I worked as a prosecutor for the Attorney General's office from 1997 through 2005. I learned how successful prosecutors build their cases, and I learned the strategies which successful defense attorneys use to counter or discredit the prosecution's case. I also learned the tools and arguments an effective parole lawyer uses in obtaining mitigation of a sentence through parole.
